How do you put on the ONBODY Back Brace Dr.Belt AirFit?
The ONBODY Back Brace Dr.Belt AirFit by BMS CO., LTD. is a lower-back support belt. You wrap it around your waist, tighten the pull handles, and pump air into the air cell bag until the fit feels comfortable. When you take it off, let all the air out first.
What is the AirFit intended for?
The instructions for use state its intended use this way:
"This device is made to support your lower back. It presses gently on your lower back (compression) and holds it in place. You can change how firm it feels. When you pump air into the air cell bag, the device also pulls and stretches your lower back a little. This is called traction."
The cover of the instructions gives the general name as Manual Air-Inflated Orthopedic Traction Device. It lists two models, BABK-U001 (Size M) and BABK-U002 (Size L).
What are the parts?
| Part | What the instructions say it does |
|---|---|
| Left and right belts | Wrap around your waist so the air cell bag sits close against your lower back |
| Center belt | Carries the lumbar support, air cell bag, pulleys and pull handles |
| Lumbar support | The firm panel inside the center belt that supports your lower back |
| Pulleys | Press the air cell bag closely against your lower back |
| Pull handles | You pull them to tighten the pulleys; both carry the ONBODY logo |
| Air valve | Where you connect the hand pump; its button releases the air |
| Air cell bag | The inflatable chamber behind the lumbar support; air pressure applies gentle traction |
| Extension belt | Adds waist range for a larger waist |
| Hand pump | Inflates the air cell bag |
Which sizes are there?
| Model | Main belt alone | With the extension belt |
|---|---|---|
| Size M (BABK-U001) | Waist 23–30 in (58–76 cm) | Waist 31–41 in (79–104 cm) |
| Size L (BABK-U002) | Waist 31–40 in (79–102 cm) | Waist 41–49 in (104–124 cm) |
The package shows which size you have. The extension belt is the same for both sizes and comes attached to the main belt when the product is new. It is 39 cm (15.4 in) long and 14 cm (5.5 in) high, and the hand pump measures 9 × 5 cm (3.5 × 2.0 in).
How do you put it on?
- Check the belt and your skin before you start. Look over the air valve, the air cell bag, the pump and the belts for damage.
- If your waist is larger than the main belt alone covers, press the extension belt onto the left belt, which is the one on the side away from the air valve. Otherwise, use the main belt alone.
- Hold the belt behind you with the lumbar support facing your back, centered on your lower back. The air valve must be on your right side. If it is on your left, the belt is upside down, so turn it over and start again.
- Wrap the left and right belts around your waist and press the hook-and-loop surfaces together.
- Pull the pull handles until the belt fits closely against your lower back, then press the handles onto the belt to hold them.
- Connect the hand pump to the air valve and squeeze it to inflate the air cell bag until the support feels comfortable and fits your body. Begin with light compression and low air pressure, then build up gradually.
- Disconnect the pump when you have finished inflating.
Always wear the belt over a thin layer of clothing, not directly against bare skin.
To take it off, press and hold the air valve button until all the air has left the air cell bag, then open the hook-and-loop surfaces. If you leave the bag full, the belt will not fit correctly the next time you wear it.
Wear time, care and storage
- Wear the belt as needed during daily activities. Do not wear the belt for long periods without a break. Take it off regularly and let your back and skin rest.
- Check your skin every time you take the belt off.
- If a healthcare professional has given you wear-time instructions, follow them. If not, start with short periods and increase the time slowly as your body allows.
- The belt cannot be washed. Let all the air out, wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth, and let it dry completely in the shade.
- Keep the air valve and the pump nozzle free of dust and foreign matter.
- Do not machine wash, hand wash, soak or submerge it in water, tumble dry, iron, dry clean or bleach it. Do not use solvents (such as thinner or benzene), alcohol, abrasive cleaners, or wet wipes that contain alcohol, bleach or other chemicals, because they can damage or deform the product.
- Fold the belt loosely and store it in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight, high heat and humidity.
Before you use

Warnings and precautions from the instructions for use:
- Do not put too much air in the air cell bag, and do not overtighten the belt. Too much pressure can cut off blood flow. This may cause numbness, tingling, skin damage, or injury. Too much air can also burst the air cell bag with a loud noise. If you feel too much pressure, press the air valve button right away to let air out.
- Stop using the product and see a healthcare professional right away if you notice pain, numbness, tingling, loss of feeling, skin rash, red spots, itching, skin color changes, unusual coldness, swelling or any other unusual symptom.
- Do not wear it while lying down or sleeping, and do not use it while driving.
- If the skin under the belt becomes irritated, stop using the belt until the skin has fully recovered. See a doctor if the irritation continues.
- Do not modify, cut, disassemble or repair it.
- Keep the belt, the hand pump and the extension belt away from small children and pets. The belts and the air hose may pose an entanglement risk.
- Precaution: Do not use it immediately after a meal.
This product is not intended to diagnose disease. It does not replace care from a doctor, rehabilitation, or exercise. It supports the lower back from the outside and applies gentle traction only while you wear it with air in the air cell bag. Results vary from person to person, and no support product works the same way for everyone. This product cannot protect against every back injury.
